Metaverse is believed to stand on a few technological pillars like virtual reality, blockchain, cloud, and more. Even though we have come far in tech, we still lack the necessary advancements to fulfill the metaverse dream. Virtual spaces will need robust networks, provided there will be several interconnected digital realms to explore.

Metaverse Still Have a Long Way to Go

5G is the fifth generation of networks we use on cellular networks. The metaverse will require real-time interactions with virtual objects and avatars. Suppose you bought a virtual plot in the metaverse, and you don’t see it anywhere after re-entering the space. Real-time rendering is necessary if the companies are willing to deliver a seamless experience.

Technology will be among the integral parts of virtual spaces considering several aspects available in the metaverse. VR technology will add more immersion to the theater experience. A user might not even visit a physical location to watch his/her favorite movie in 3-D. A headgear will deliver the experience to the comfort of their homes.

Moreover, people prefer to watch high-resolution videos, whether they are in a theater or streaming on a device. While this experience will potentially be available on VR devices, they will also need an uninterrupted high-speed network– As poor bandwidth can cause loss of networks for users. Undeniably, none stays in and around poor quality services.

The metaverse will potentially cover a majority of industries globally, meaning the markets using this technology will eventually be affected by any blockades standing in the way. Blockchain technology will be another major aspect of the metaverse. Though the technology has proven revolutionary, it has its drawbacks.

Solana is one blockchain considered to be an Ethereum killer, as it is designed to resolve scalability issues. However, it has suffered some outages on the network before. Anything like that is a red flag for the metaverse. If we think about integrating markets into virtual realms, then one outage may prove destructive to an entire sector.

The metaverse cannot enter the mainstream until the developers are sure it will not hinder people’s daily lives. On the contrary, if the metaverse goes mainstream, there is a possibility it will hinder our lives to some extent. Ready Player One, a metaverse movie directed by Steven Spielberg, showed how the metaverse should look.

The Internet is evolving, and its next iteration is expected to be more immersive than the current one.
