It’s only a few hours until Apple, the biggest tech giant on the globe, will host its WorldWide Developers Conference (WWDC) 2023. Today might be the day people finally see the company’s much awaited virtual reality (VR) headgear. Last year, the iPhone maker cited technical issues to delay the launch.

Apple Has Built a Large Structure for Potential VR Demo

An image taken from a drone shows Apple has built a large structure in the northwest region of the Apple Park, in front of the fitness center. This is rumored to be the demo area for showcasing the new product, and keynote speaking will possibly be hosted on the opposite side of campus.

Pundits believe the device is likely to be a mixed reality (MR) headset, a combination of virtual reality and augmented reality (AR). This could be the company’s biggest product launch. Apart from this, the organization is anticipated to reveal other announcements associated with its persisting fleet of products. Additionally, Apple is likely to tease how they intend to use artificial intelligence (AI) in their operations.

According to Bloomberg, the company has planned to put a price tag of $3,000 on the headgear, which will likely be called Reality One or Reality Pro. Meta Platforms came up with the Quest Pro in October 2022, and Quest 3 recently. The social media giant said that the latter is the most powerful product they have, to this date.

Meta Quest 3 was teased by Meta Platform on Twitter with a price tag pegged to $499. Mark Zuckerberg shifted the company’s operations towards metaverse development. However, his decision did not appear to be going the way he wanted to. During the recent earnings call, he pointed out shifting the organization’s focus temporarily on AI.

AAPL Stock Price Action

AAPL stock is on a bull run since the year’s beginning while gaining nearly 45% since. Meta Platforms had the same scenario with almost 140% rise during the same timeframe. Ease of movement is positive and aroon up is above aroon down, showing too many signs of trend continuum. The price closed at $180.95 on Friday and has started rising in the pre-market.

The metaverse has caused a lot of damage to Meta Platforms considering the company poured $100 Billion in its research and development, according to an editorial by National Review, an American conservative magazine. The write-up discussed fading interest in the metaverse caused by technologies like AI. It mentioned that next time the metaverse will come, there will hopefully be attractive amenities and better technologies. It would be worthwhile if Apple can meet such ends.

Tech titans including Google, Nvidia, Microsoft and more are going all out in harnessing the power of artificial intelligence. However, they are also working on the metaverse with Microsoft about to acquire the Call of Duty creators, Activision Blizzard, and Nvidia enabling developers to build metaverse applications on Omniverse, their real time 3D graphics collaboration platform.
