On June 6, an American fast-food chain, McDonald’s Singapore, announced its ‘My Happy Place’ Metaverse in coordination with Bandwagon Labs. The community will get a chance to make a virtual burger, build virtual space, and enjoy unlimited games.
A Dive Into McDonald’s Virtual Space
The partnership of McDonald’s Singapore with Bandwagon Labs, an entertainment media tech company, introduces the first-ever Metaverse restaurant, ‘My Happy Place.’ Both companies collaborated to offer the community with an in-app virtual world.

As per the announcement, the project was scheduled to go live from June 6 to July 7, based on which the future deployments will be implemented. Moreover, McDonald’s has complete control over the new platform.
The community members exploring the space and participating in the games would get free meals for one year. Uncovering the space, Clarence Chan, the founder of Bandwagon Labs, shared some highlights.
“The multiplayer ecosystem will permit individuals to interact in real-time and serve as a creative space for individuals. Also, the virtual land will offer daily rewards and various challenges”, Chan added.
The success of the trial will enhance McDonald’s roots in the Metaverse. Furthermore, the fast food chain is already doing well in the Web3 and NFT space.
McDonald Singapore’s Roots in Web3 and NFT
In August 2023, McDonald’s Singapore entered the NFT world by introducing its 2000 free and exclusive Grimace digital collectibles. All the NFT items have their own design and uniqueness. Grimace is McDonald’s iconic character and has been a signature character for over 50 years.

According to OpenSea data, the Grimace NFT project was streaming over the Polygon network and holds around 1980 owners.
Moreover, the fast food chain created its presence in the virtual space in 2021 while celebrating McRib’s 40th anniversary and launching its own Metaverse space, McNuggets Land, inside The Sandbox.
At McNuggets Land, coach McNugget invites individuals to play games by finding four McDonald’s signs. Accomplishing the game offers players exciting rewards, including a 100,000 SAND token.
