  • WWE, aka World Wrestling Entertainment, has agreed upon a deal with sports platform Fanatics for launching Non Fungible Tokens.
  • Candy Digital is going to be a core partner for WWE NFT channel and will lead technical execution and creative process.
  • Just previous month, Warner Music Group declared that it was collaborating with a P2E blockchain card game dubbed Splinterlands.

WWE Takes Another Step Into NFT Sector

World Wrestling Entertainment, acknowledged for its roster of celebrities and wrestling personalities, has inked a deal with sports platforms Fanatics to model and launch trading NFT cards via Candy Digital, Fanatics’ virtual collectibles organization.

As per a joint statement, NFT trading cards will feature a handful of greatest WWE names, and will represent some of the legendary moments in its history. NFTs are distinct tokens persisting on blockchains such as Solana or Ethereum and justify ownership over an asset, such as a trading card here.

While this may sound like a good opportunity for die-hard WWE enthusiasts to acquire some virtual merchandise, they’ll have to remain calm. WWE already have persisting agreements for trading cards, which are going to expire over upcoming few years. At that moment, Candy Digital and Fanatics will become exclusive providers of WWE trading cards.

NFT Launch

It seems that WWE will commence making NFTs later in 2022. Candy Digital is going to be a primary collaborator for WWE NFT projects and will lead creative process as well as technical execution.

Trading cards will feature a Fanatics-owned Topps logo.

WWE is way behind from its initial sports brand to enter NFT sector. Recently retired Tom Brady has released a number of distinct NFT drops for several athletes via his platform, Autograph.

NFTs as virtual trading cards seems interesting — Just previous month, Warner Music Group made an announcement that it will collaborate with Splinterlands, a play to earn blockchains, to potentially blend musicians into future games.

Neither organization specified that which superstars are going to appear on these much-awaited NFT cards, but the ones looking out for a Web3 version of Randy Orton or Sting, they may witness it soon.

NFT sector is booming day by day, and this contribution to be made by World Wrestling Entertainment is a massive addition to the space.

Folks who are into art, especially virtual art, they have a massive opportunity to monetize their creations in this space.
