Cryptocells Launches Blockchain Collectibles Games To Save Human Lives

The new platform is crowdsourcing innovation through gamification to drive user engagement – with the goal of saving human lives. With its tokenized, collectable, modifiable and potentially real bio assets, the company aims to foster innovations in biotech and medical science.

Munich, Germany, October 11, 2019 – Over the past decade, almost all big pharmaceutical companies have shut down their antibiotics research projects. More than 10 million people a year could die from antibiotic-resistant bacteria (“Superbugs”), warns a recent United Nations report, as Bacteria like the Acinetobacter baumannii, resistant to almost every antibiotic in the pharmacological arsenal, are on the rise. Additionally, according to the World Health Organization (WHO), every minute five patients die from incorrect medical treatment.             

Thanks to major scientific breakthroughs, numerous diseases that used to be fatal are now curable. However, much work needs to be done to find cures for many other illnesses including Cancer, HIV/AIDS, Multiple sclerosis, Alzheimer’s disease, diabetes, Parkinson’s disease, Lupus, Polio, Asthma, Schizophrenia. Science has been able to develop various treatments to prolong life expectancy and improve the quality of life for those affected. However, as of today, we’re lacking reliable, effective treatments.

Cryptocells is an open-innovation & crowdsourcing-through-gamification platform and marketplace with a defined focus on health and life extension. All games and contests are designed to support the research and development of new cures, that could potentially help save millions of lives in the real world.

To participate, users can acquire differentiated non-fungible ERC-721 tokens, so-called “bio assets” such as Proteins, DNA, Bacteria, Viruses, Phages or Organs. These Bio Assets can then be collected (Crypto-Collectibles), bred (to obtain a new genome, which can be tested against their biological counterparts), developed into visually new shapes and forms, and traded on the marketplace. Promising results will be reviewed by biological and medical scientists to evaluate future applications.

The platform also enables its users to participate in challenges – either through ongoing games such as protein folding or CRISPR-Cas9 gene editing (which anyone can play), or through short-term targeted crowd-driven contests by companies and organizations for their unsolved problems with a given monetary prize pool.
