  • First time wedding rings were converted to NFT to engrave the eternal love on the Ethereum blockchain
  • Coinbase’s employees have engraved their marriage vows on the blockchain network as NFT tokens
  • Blockchain technology is similar to love, and no one can ever censor both

NFT could help swear love by recording marriage on the blockchain. On March 21st, 2021, two employees of Coinbase have recorded their marriage on the Ethereum blockchain. However, such a fact came to reality unprecedentedly by tokenizing a digital wedding ring. Moreover, the ring was sent to the groom and bride’s account to create a “wedding”.

Although, this was not the first marriage that took place on the blockchain. But, for the first time, a marriage ring has been converted to tokens like NFT. The bride also tweeted that most couples get married in a place of religious worship or maybe on a beach, and they were not most couples.

NFT engraved a marriage to the blockchain

Rebecca Rose, in charge of product design on Coinbase, and Peter Kacherginsky, in charge of the exchange’s security, married on blockchain. The groom created a smart contract on the Ethereum blockchain before his wedding, which helped him convert the digital art symbolizing the wedding ring into tokens. The created tokens were named Tabata (TBT), which means “ring” in the Hebrew language. Hence, the bride and the groom sent NFT rings to each other as a part of their wedding ceremony. Moreover, the tokens were much like rings, and the couple sent each other from their crypto wallets.

A unique animation with the concept of two things becoming one like marriage was designed. And the vibrant art’s NFT was issued. However, only two tokens were published in the world, which engraved a wedding on the blockchain, leaving the Proof-of-Commitment visible to everyone.

blockchain technology and love can never be censored

The cryptosphere can witness that blockchain technology can’t be stopped by anyone. Similarly, love can also not be censored by anyone and needs no permission from anyone. Indeed, storing a digitized virtual ring in a virtual wallet symbolizes the enduring bond. However, in the past several times, we heard that wedding vows were recorded on the blockchain. However, this was the first ever when a wedding ring had been converted to NFT.
