Brian Armstrong, the CEO of Coinbase, a digital currency exchange based in San Francisco, California, said that the total number of users of cryptocurrency in the world right now can go up from 50 million at present to a whopping 5 billion worldwide.
Brian said this while referring to the data of Statista Service. The data from Statista Service has shown that the increase in the number of crypto users has increased significantly as in the fourth quarter of the year 2019.
The number of digital wallets went up to 45 million worldwide marks, which can be compared to the numbers in the same period one year ago in 2018 at 32 million wallets. This data clearly shows that there was an addition of around 13 million digital wallets in just one year.
If we put this indicator in comparison with the last quarter of 2017, then the number of digital wallets has more than doubled. The data also shows that the number of bitcoin addresses with non zero balance also continues to grow at a significant rate, and to support this, the data from Bitinfocharts shows that there are 21.5 million wallets already registered with at least $1 on the network.
