Petition by the US Government

The “cryptoqueen” brother and also, the top leader of OneCoin Konstantin Ignatov was arrested on 6, 2019, at the Los Angeles International Airport for wire fraud conspiracy.  Recently, the documents about his petition change, along with the cooperation with the US authorities remain undercover.

The US Government filed a letter on April 6, 2020, with the Court regarding Ignatov. On April 8, 2020, at 11:00 a.m., it was scheduled that Ignatov is going to be sentenced in this case. But as his cooperation has not yet completed, the Government appealed the Court to adjourn the date of sentencing for approximately three months.

Moreover, Ignatov appeared publicly in the trial of the United States v. Mark S. Scott and the Government pleads to uncover certain documents as of the Government’s letter dated July 18, 2019; the October 4, 2019 change of plea transcript; the October 8, 2019 sealing order; and the Sealed Superseding Information; the waiver of Indictment.

On the other hand, the defense has agreed with this appeal.

OneCoin claimed to own a blockchain

Ignatov along with his sister Ruja Ignatova and others made representations about OneCoin that made the victims invest billions of dollars worldwide in the fake cryptocurrency.

The company claimed to have more than 3 million members across the globe including the victims working within the Southern District of New York. Also, it has claimed to own a blockchain or a digital ledger that identifies OneCoin and records old transactions.

However, the investigation showed that OneCoin lacks public and provable blockchain.
