  • Wladimir van der Laan has decided to encourage more decentralization
  • Wladimir has announced to be in a “background role” and will continue to work for Bitcoin

Bitcoin Core Lead Maintainer Wladimir van der Laan decides to be more in the background role to manage the operations of Bitcoin core. According to his statement, he will be more focused on decentralization projects. So from now on, his primary focus will be on Core Bitcoin projects but not to be in a lead role.

Reason for resignation

Before, Wladimir van der Laan has a janitorial nature of work for Bitcoin Core who has all types of responsibility to care for the smooth running of work. As Bitcoin Core is the major software for maintaining the Bitcoin network, Wladimir’s work eventually became like a leader from the perspective of the community.

Being a centralized Bottleneck, Wladimir van der Laan’s announcement appeared after the controversy happened on Thursday. Many Bitcoin associates and supervisors are against his decisions made on Bitcoin Core. The officials said that Wladimir should not have pulled the papers from Bitcoin Core.org. So Wladimir tried to defend by saying that he has put all his efforts into making the toughest decisions in favor of the company.

Future of decentralization

Wladimir has set a deep vision for Bitcoin Core development. He thinks that this move can help in progressing decentralization. Wladimir always wanted to have a Bitcoin process, and it’s trading without any leader. So, according to the report, after stepping down from the central role, he can now focus more on core development.

The world has already witnessed the booming wave of Bitcoin where investors are making a profit and developers have started to work full time. But many companies like Coinbase are in full support of Wladimir van der Laan and other contributors to develop after getting several requests from communities. Besides, in Wladimir’s absence, many other core associates are active, which makes it easy to resign and focus on changing the future.

Although Wladimir’s resignation has created a dent in Bitcoin development, this can create a positive era in the development of Bitcoin core. Bitcoin and its requirements are different from other coins. So it requires more attention and focused concentration. So Wladimir’s decision will be in favor of the community.
