The Graph, which is a link between decentralized applications (Dapps) and different blockchains, acts as a data querying platform that other blockchains and projects can use for their data requirements.

The Graph platform allows users to package queries into “subgraphs” to provide curated content for blockchains and decentralized applications.

Dapps like Uniswap, synthetic, and Aave use porting Ethereum data to their dapp, and the platform has a native token called GRT.

A Microtransaction system for The Graph

Scalar is a scalable microtransaction solution built on the Connext Vector protocol for fast and cheap Graph query fees in the Graph network. Every query on the Graph Network is individually priced by Indexers and paid by consumers or Dapp developers.

In February, the Graph query exceeded 14 billion queries and over 19 billion in March, indicating a continuous rise in the adoption of Ethereum Dapps. A Microtransaction system enables the Graph to have higher throughput and low latency.

The solution requires decentralized, fault-tolerant, trustless, efficient utilization of the available liquidity and debunking the myth that centralization is useful for creating more efficient transactions. The series of goals to be achieved for Graph is to be widely implemented as a wide-scale transaction solution.

What are in Scalar solution upgrades?

  • The main concern for a decentralized network is to process billions of transactions monthly without increasing load time for users. The Graph Foundation took two years of research and development to launch a scalable microtransaction system called Scalar. Scalar uses Connext Vector Protocol with “throughput” to accommodate The Graph’s growth for upcoming years.
  • The Connext Vector Protocol uses state channels to aggregate and compress transactions before being finalized on the blockchain. The Graph Network uses Scalar to process transaction queries between Indexers and Consumers and take payment for application queries.
  • Scaler is now open-sourced for the betterment of Web3 and Ethereum communities, so any application can use Scalar to process transactions effectively.
  • Scalar serves multiple transactions parallelly at any given moment. The solution developed for a long time by Connext and the Graph teams so that Web3 can benefit and make scalable transactions possible.
  • The Graph’s hosted service Scalar has seen consistent usage per month, showering acceptance from large crowds for a decentralized internet.

Conclusion

The Graph protocol is set to be the primary scalable method for enabling searches across all components of the Blockchain ecosystem. The Scalar, built by The Graph foundation, acts as a guiding light for Web3 and other applications on blockchain technology by providing advanced searching methods for users.
