After a much-anticipated debut by Tesla’s chief on Saturday Night Live, the meme-based token crashed. Elon Musk asked investors to be cautious before investing. He also termed the DOGE as a hustle. It led to a fall in the meme-based token’s value. However, on Tuesday, Elon Musk made amends and tweeted whether Tesla Inc. should accept it for payments?

Musk was a vociferous supporter of the Dog-themed token again posted on Twitter reports Bloomberg. Elon Musk posted a survey on Twitter asking his followers if they wanted Tesla to accept Dogecoin as payment. The survey elicited over 750,000 answers in half an hour. The result was Dogecoin values jumped from 46 cents to as high as 54 cents as per data from Coinmarketcap.com.
Dogecoin has a long history of volatility, and only last weekend after SNL gate; its market cap fell from $95 billion to $67 billion recently. The fourth-largest cryptocurrency has come a long way since its inception, often termed as a joke in the fag end of 2013.
Dogecoin is more than a hustle, seen by Musk as legitimate money.
Dogecoin has been constantly in the news, first by good tweets by its die-hard fan Elon Musk. Coming to a more serious matter, Tesla has already said that it could accept crypto money for its electric-powered cars. SpaceX, the commercial rocket launching company, will carry a Canadian mini-satellite on a Moon voyage in 2022. The costs will be entirely paid in Dogecoin.
Elon Musk may have termed the Dogecoin a hustle but still sees it as a legitimate currency to fund a rocket launch. Canadian Geometric Energy helms the launch. The satellite will piggyback atop SpaceX’s Falcon 9.
