Buterin Donated Cryptos That he Received as Gift From Creators
Ethereum’s co-founder, Vitalik Buterin, made a heavy donation of over $1 billion in crypto to the India Covid Relief Fund and several other charities. As per Forbes, Buterin donated massive amounts of the meme cryptocurrencies that were inspired by Dogecoin. Shiba Inu coin (SHIB), Dogelon (ELON), and Akita Inu (AKITA) were some of the cryptos that Buterin received from the creators. He donated 50 trillion SHIB amounting to up to $1.2 billion to the India Covid Relief Fund, set up by Indian tech entrepreneur Sandeep Nailwal.
Nailwal Promises the SHIB Community That Donation Will be Spent Sensibly
Back in April, Buterin again contributed a massive amount of $60000 in Ether (ETH) and Maker (MKR). The creator of the fund, Nailwal, immediately thanked Buterin for his contribution and assured all the SHIB investors that the amount would not be spent carelessly. In a tweet, Nailwal said that they would not do anything that will hurt any community and especially the retail community involved with SHIB.
Buterin’s other honorable donations include GiveWell, a non-profit charity evaluator, Methuselah Foundation, which focuses on increasing the human lifecycle, and Machine Intelligence Research Institute, which focused on research and development of ML algorithms. The anonymous devs of the meme crypto SHIB had transferred 50% of the entire crypto supply to Buterin. In addition, it was noticed that Ethereum sent AKITA tokens worth $441 million to Gitcoin.
