Instagram Seems Planning to Build an NFT Platform

NFT or the Non-Fungible Token is something in the craze for a while now. Observing the popularity of NFTs, many marketplaces for such assets are popping out around the world. Recently, Sean Williams, a digital artist tweeted claiming that the popular social platform Instagram is working to create such a marketplace. On the other side it is also known that Beeple, a digital artist is known to be working on creating a fully holographic Non-Fungible Token. 

Instagram has invited artists to discuss on an NFT panel

On Tuesday, Williams announced to its 12k followers on Twitter that Instagram has invited him and other artists to discuss an NFT platform. According to the artist, the social platform wanted to get feedback on how the organization can create a better platform for creators. 

The platform is going to be a part of a three-day event entitled “Creator Week”. And the event has been believed to be an opportunity to help creators develop their community and grow business. 

Moreover, it is also known that the social platform has offered $1k to the artists for sitting with the developers and giving insights. However, the approach has been criticized by Williams, as he feels that the organization wants to leverage the artists’ insight to offer market research.

Beeple partners to offer holographic NFTs

Mike Winklemann, known as Beeple, has associated with a couple of software firms to create fully holographic NFT. The rendering software providers RNDR and its parent firm OTOY are taking the expertise of Beeple as an artist and long-term user of their software. According to the announcement, the partnership will focus on building the first such crypto tokens that are fully immersive on holographic displays and mobile AR. Moreover, such tokens will be validated using a deep form of authentication on the RNR blockchain network.

On the other side, OTOY is also working with Light Field Labs to build the world’s first glasses-free holographic display panel. Hence, Beeple’s upcoming holographic NFTs will be showcased on such unique display panels.
