The tournament has been organized by the Meltwater Champions Chess Tour, which is believed as the wealthiest and most prestigious chess game ever played virtually. Moreover, it is known that Fabiano Caruana, the second-best chess player in the world, will play in his first Tour event this season.
FTX exchange has purchased $100k worth BTC
FTX exchange is a leading institute grade crypto assets exchange based in the United States. The exchange will broadcast the real-time price fluctuation of the flagship crypto-asset throughout the Bitcoin Chess Tournament. The broadcast will help the fans of the tournament to track the prize pot’s value in real-time.
On the other side, the crypto exchange has purchased 2.1825 BTC for approximately $100k. The purchase was made last week on Monday, at the time the coin designed by Satoshi Nakamoto was trading at the price level of $45k.
Players joining the Bitcoin Chess Tournament
The FTX Crypto Cup Magnus Carlsen has revealed a few prominent players’ names who will join the Bitcoin Chess Tournament. The name list includes Emanuel Lasker, Alexander Alekhine, Mikhail Botvinnik, Bobby Fischer, and others. Among the players, Ding Liren, China’s top chess player, participates in the tournament. The Russian was installed as the official world title challenger. Following the fact, the first encounter will be between Carlsen and Nepo.
Carlsen also revealed that the fan favourite Hikaru Nakamura aims to roar back and topple him after his defeat in the New In Chess Classic final.
