As per the Associated Press report, the officials from the Massena town mandated the 90-day moratorium on new Bitcoin mining operations due to aesthetic concerns. Steve O’Shaughnessy, the supervisor of Massena City, said that the miners filled the streets with trailers containing computers and other equipment used to mine bitcoin.
Shaughnessy said that littered roads look very embarrassing, which are pumping out bitcoin. The authorities want them to come here, in front of a representative building.
At the same time, the city will use a 90-day moratorium to ensure Massena’s roadside has been cleared of trailers and containers removed from the road.
