  • It’s the NBA team’s latest crypto-friendly move, according to owner Mark Cuban, who claims to be the world’s largest dogecoin vendor
  • Customers can use cryptocurrencies like bitcoin, ether, dogecoin, USDC, and GUSD to purchase products

Customers who spend at least $150 on items with specific cryptocurrencies will receive a $25 e-gift card from the Dallas Mavericks. The Mavs Cryptomania giveaway is the NBA team’s newest effort to promote cryptocurrencies. The team added dogecoin to its list of acceptable currency for ticket and product payments earlier this year.

Dogecoin’s transactions by Cuban’s NBA team

Shortly after the announcement, Mavericks owner Mark Cuban announced that his NBA team had completed over 20,000 dogecoin transactions, making it the largest merchant of the meme-based cryptocurrency. On Friday, Cuban used the hashtag #dogemania to tweet an image of the gift card promotion. He also mentioned that people can use cryptocurrency to purchase suites and lower-level seats. The NBA team now uses BitPay to process bitcoin, ether, bitcoin cash, doge, USDC, GUSD, BUSD, and PAX cryptocurrency purchases.

The NBA franchise owned by billionaire Mark Cuban, the Dallas Mavericks, has become the first professional sports team to accept Dogecoin as payment. The basketball team had already begun to accept Bitcoin, and according to Cuban, the team had not yet received any large Bitcoin payments.

The creator of dogecoin, Shibtoshi Nakamoto, congratulated their followers on the news and told them: If you want to support one of the first big-name vendors to evangelize DOGE for purchases, as @mcuban says, it’s ready for you, as @mcuban says, it’s ready for you, as @mcuban says, it’s ready for you, as @mcuban says, it’s ready for you, as @mcuban says, The Mavericks’ offer is good through September 30. Bitcoin increased by 0.76 percent to $48,600 on Saturday morning. Around 28 cents, Dogecoin was basically flat.

Cuban’s NBA team was the first to accept Dogecoin

The Mavericks announced in March that they had become the first NBA team to accept Dogecoin. Cuban recently stated that the team plans to provide special item pricing to individuals who pay in Dogecoin, a cryptocurrency backed by another billionaire entrepreneur, Elon Musk.

Some Twitter users were surprised to learn that Cuban, who had invested in Iron Finance’s Titan token and lost money when its price plummeted from $64 (roughly Rs. 4,740) to near zero in less than 24 hours in June, had put so little money into Dogecoin despite previously supporting it, and they chastised him for it. A user requested the millionaire to cease tweeting about Dogecoin, claiming that after his announcement, many were afraid of losing money in a price fall.

Cuban appears to be a supporter of Ethereum, believing that the second-largest blockchain network would serve as a portal to the decentralized world. He also thinks Bitcoin will become increasingly popular as a store of value rather than a payment method.
