  • According to Whale alert data, a diamond-handed Bitcoin holder has just withdrawn his money from his wallet for the first time since 2011.
  • Two non-active Bitcoin wallets have reactivated today, with more than 100 BTC in circulation. It’s caused quite a stir in the crypto community because the account had previously been silent for over a decade.
  • Previously, the community feared such triggers for old wallets to “go asleep” because whales moving BTC from them may drive down the price of BTC with their sales. However, for the time being, these actions will have little effect on the price of the top digital coin.

Back in June 2010, both addresses earned a 50 BTC prize for mining blocks. For numerous years, activity was essentially non-existent. Except for two micro-transactions of 0.00000547 BTC that entered the wallet in the last six months.

The initial investment of $ 8,425 grew to $ 23.7 million, thanks to Bitcoin’s enormous increases over the last decade.

Satoshi Nakamoto, the sleeping whale

Satoshi Nakamoto created Bitcoin in 2009 and took it up to the community the following year. In 2008, the unknown Satoshi Nakamoto produced the renowned Bitcoin whitepaper, which described the cryptocurrency’s technical specs and motives.

As remarkable as that sounds, no one would have waited more than ten years to cash out their Bitcoin stockpile. A more reasonable explanation for the transaction is that someone unintentionally uncovered or eventually unlocked a dusty crypto wallet.

Last May, $500,000 was moved from a Bitcoin wallet set up in February 2009, barely two months after the genesis block was produced. This quickly sparked rumors that Satoshi had begun paying out his coins, although the idea was eventually disproved by blockchain experts.

In November, a sleeping whale triggered a wallet carrying $ 150 million, according to U.Today.

A lot of inactive wallets have been active recently

A bitcoin wallet that had been inactive since the cryptocurrency’s unknown founder was still active online has been reactivated. The wallet was last used on May 17, 2010, less than a year before Satoshi Nakamoto released their final communications to other cryptocurrency developers under the name Satoshi Nakamoto.

Both last year and this year, a lot of Bitcoin holder wallets that were quiet from 2011 to 2013 and stored tens of millions of dollars of the leading cryptocurrency were activated.
