Sega To Scrap Their NFT Plans?

Sega, a leading video game company, in an announcement released its latest stance over the play-to-earn model and the NFT inclusion in its game. On December 24th, in the company’s recent management meeting, Sega CEO Haruki revealed that if players have a bad opinion of NFTs, the enterprise may abandon its existing experiments in the field.

The CEO of Sega, when asked the opinion of Sega on play-to-earn technologies at the moment, said that the company is doing various experiments and has already done quite a lot of investigations and considerations, however, nothing is finalized as of now. What Haruki Thinks About Metaverse?

While talking about the metaverse, he explained that a metaverse is a place where people mingle and communities flourish. He is also of the opinion that the priority of the gaming industry should be to develop high-quality games instead of metaverse experiences as not every game that has metaverse elements constitutes the metaverse.

Stretching on his ideas, he shared that the company is creating a Super Game which not only will support and multi-platform but will also have a network and a community. It could transform into an e-sport also if it has a competitive element called PvP. With a decent amount of active users and millions of downloads, there is also the possibility of it becoming the Metaverse.

Sega is another gaming firm that has begun to explore NFTs. The corporation declared in April that it will begin selling NFTs based on its intellectual rights, which the gaming community did not welcome enthusiastically. Other traditional gaming firms, such as Game World and Ubisoft GSC, have faced similar criticism for their involvement with blockchain and related technology.
