With the development of Blockchain and adding on new features, smart contracts, and being open-source, it has made a lot of developers and creators, either individuals or organizations, easy to be on-chain. Axie Infinity is the same kind of gaming project developed by Sky Mavis Studio in Vietnam. The online video game is based on Ethereum Blockchain. On top of that, Axie Infinity has used NFT-model in its gaming, and it’s even on the way to being a gaming metaverse. The game has characters called ‘Axie’ whose NFTs are available; anyone needs at least three NFT to be eligible for entering the game. Axie infinity works as a ‘play-to-earn’ modal in which players can earn native tokens, AXS, and SLP.
Axie Infinity performed very well in the NFT market last year and achieved approximately $3.85 Billion in sales of NFTs. The game has approx two million active users at present. These are huge numbers in users and transactions, which would not be possible to sustain with the traditional Ethereum Blockchain network on which the game runs. Instead, the developers at Axie Infinity developed their Ronin Sidechain for its transactions because Ethereum was not compatible with gaming. With the Ronin Sidechain, the transaction process became better both in terms of speed and fees. Ronin is faster than before, and it’s even inexpensive in transactions. It can be seen in the recent research as well, which shows the Ronin sidechain had processed 560% more transactions than Ethereum Blockchain. However, there is no data available for transactions per second, but it officially shows its Block time which is 3 seconds. On the other hand, Ethereum Block time is approx 13 seconds.
Ronin also has its wallet. And in terms of transaction fees too, Ronin is way cheaper than Ethereum, whereas Ethereum charges around 100 gwei for transactions; on the other side, Ronin allows 100 transactions per wallet per day free. Soon Ronin will launch its own token $RON so that further transactions will be in $RON. The price of $RON would be less than $1.
Axie Infinity has its decentralized exchange Katana. It gives another edge over the others. For now, the exchange trades AXS and SLP on behalf of Axie Infinity; soon, $RON will be there on the platform after its launch.
Although many Blockchains are available, many of them lack the features, feasibility, and facilities as Ronin does in terms of gaming. It’s not been a long time since Ronin’s launch, and it had gained so much trust all over.
