Vitalik Buterin unveils plans to join Dogecoin developers

Dogecoin, the cryptocurrency project that began as a meme, has seen notable growth over the last year following celebrity wordings. Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla, is one of the project’s most prominent proponents. Last year Musk found the true potential of digital currency. Following the potential and growth of the project, The Dogecoin Foundation is back with some high-profile board members. Vitalik Buterin, the co-founder of the second-largest blockchain project in the crypto ecosystem, has also joined the Doge board.

Dogecoin Foundation seeks to work full-time

The Dogecoin Foundation is a non-profit organization that aims to support the meme-coin with advocacy and trademark protection. The organization was founded in 2014 but dissolved over time. However, now the group seeks three years’ worth of funding to hire staff and work on the project full-time.

According to the latest updates on the project’s official website, the foundation’s board members will meet monthly to discuss issues relating to the DOGE project. Moreover, in the group’s manifesto, the members laid their mission and founding principles.

Notably, the manifesto says that the board members develop for the people and strive to do only good every day.

DOGE foundation includes new high profiles

The Dogecoin Foundation has included several high-profile figures in its board members in recent developments. These profiles include Billy Markus, Jared Birchall, Max Keller, Jens Weichers, Michi Lumin, Ross Nicoll, and Vitalik Buterin.

Billy Markus, the project’s creator as the community and memes advisor. Jared Birchall, the head of the Musk family office, will represent the billionaire DOGE advocate as legal and financial advisor. Max Keller, the core developer, will serve as a technical advisor. Other members include a previous member of the DOGE foundation, Jens Weichers. Michi Lumin and Ross Nicoll are the DOGE core developers.

DOGE has found its path

The meme-based cryptocurrency that was established as a joke in 2013 has grown into a behemoth. In the current scenario, Dogecoin is worth billions of dollars. Notably, billionaires like Mark Cuban and Elon Musk are significant, influential figures who supported the project and helped it grow.
