  • Metaverse is a digital world that is attaining a prominent attraction, and Meta is on the front in the sector to offer numerous tech developments.
  • As per the reports, the organization is presently working on a couple of developments regarding a couple of AI-Language translation models.
  • Apart from this, Meta (formerly Facebook) is working continuously, on several technologies based on artificial intelligence.

Metaverse Is Getting An AI Universal Language Translation System?

In a recent live streaming of an event, Mark Zuckerberg, Meta CEO, threw some light on several latest tech developments based on AI for metaverse. Among others, the CEO mentioned, their organization is going to develop a universal language translation system, to enable users to communicate with others in the digital world.

Mark Zuckerberg stated that their prime motive is to develop a universal model for incorporating knowledge across each modality.

This will allow a broader scale of forecasts, generations, decisions, and latest architecture training mechanisms, capable of learning from a wider and immersive range of distinguished inputs, added Zuckerberg.

Couple Of AI Translators at Work

Now, back in Meta’s plan for development of this model, the organization states that they are developing a couple of AI language translation models. First is “No Language Left Behind,” which will be capable of grasping each language spoken across the globe, even if there’s restricted text available.

Zuckerberg said that, organization is making a single model, which can translate hundreds of languages, with the cutting edge outcome, and majority of language pairs — everything from Urdu to Austrian to Uganda.

Another model will leverage the organization’s M2M-100 model, which was revealed in 2020, to develop an AI called Babelfish. Mark Zuckerberg said, the objective here is immediate speech to speech translation for each language.

These are some prominent claims made by Meta. Although the organization’s research team is continuously working on several AI technologies, it is short of resources.

As per a blog post by Facebook, Machine learning systems for translations, usually depend upon learning from a myriad of sentences of explicated data. Due to this, MT systems having ability of higher quality translations were built for just a few languages having dominance on the Internet.

Finally, we can say this development will be a groundbreaker, as it will remove every barrier available today regarding communication.
