- Adam Aron, the CEO of AMC Entertainment, the world’s largest movie exhibition company, announced that in the coming weeks, it would begin accepting DOGE and SHIB.
- The CEO even conducted a Twitter poll on accepting SHIB and DOGE in September and October last year, respectively.
- Last year, AMC announced it would accept payments in four cryptocurrencies: BTC, LTC, ETH, and BCH. However, the customers can only pay through their PayPal accounts.
On Monday, Adam Aron, the CEO of AMC Entertainment Holdings, announced that AMC theaters would accept payments in DOGE (Dogecoin) and SHIB (Shiba Inu), the two popular meme cryptocurrencies in March.
AMC Entertainment has created a name for itself in the movie industry. It is not only the largest movie exhibition company in the US or Europe but in the world. The company is the owner of 950 theaters and 10,500 screens worldwide.
As the IT Department at AMC Theaters, Aron shared that by March 19, “Bitpay will be live for AMC online payments”, while on April 16 or a few days before it, it will be live on the company’s mobile apps.
The AMC CEO conducted a Twitter Poll about Dogecoin in September of the previous year and Shiba Inu the following month. The CEO has made a promise to the crypto community that the AMC theaters will soon be accepting payments in DOGE and SHIB.
Furthermore, the CEO claimed that he tried convincing Bitpay, the crypto payment service provider, to support Shiba Inu in November last year. He even promised to be the first client of Bitpay who will accept SHIB.
But, in a twist of events, Newegg, a retail giant, began accepting payments in SHIB when Bitpay finally started supporting Shiba Inu Crypto in November last year.

Other Cryptocurrencies That AMC Accepts
Last Year, AMC theaters announced that they have started accepting payments in four cryptocurrencies, namely: Bitcoin (BTC), ether (ETH), litecoin (LTC), and bitcoin cash (BCH). But, he also put forward the condition that customers can only pay in cryptocurrencies through their PayPal accounts.
