  • FTX, a cryptocurrency exchange, announced the WB Games executive Steve Sadin as its head of gaming partnerships for its newly-established gaming business.
  • Now, Sadin will be handling collaboration with major gaming brands, the company disclosed in a press release.
  • The WB Games executive is the perfect candidate for the position as Sadin has various games played by millions of gamers and earned over $1 billion in product revenue.

On Thursday, FTX, in an announcement, revealed that Steve Sadin, the WB Games executive is now the head of its gaming partnerships for its newly-established gaming business.

In a press release, the company revealed that Sadin will now be in charge of signing partnerships with major gaming brands. Meanwhile, the latest venture is into tokens and digital asset ownership through the impending “crypto-as-a-service” platform of FTX.

Sadin has launched and operated free-to-play games for WB Games in the past decade, part of WarnerMedia. Sadin was heading WB Games’ Boston studio very recently, where he launched Conquest: the mobile real-time strategy game Game of Thrones.

FTX also revealed in a release that he is pretty enthusiastic about collecting physical and digital goods, including comics, action figures, games, and books.

Steve has run games, which millions of players around the world have played and, as a result, in product revenue collected more than $1 billion. These skills of Steve make him the perfect candidate for collaborating with major gaming studios since he has such a great knowledge of a player and studio head, and he is aware of it, says the head of FTXVentures & Commercial, Amy Wu.

FTX also launched a blockchain gaming fund worth $100 million with Lightspeed Venture Partners and Solana Ventures for investing in startups whose main priority is building blockchain gaming studios. The blockchain gaming firm is famous among venture capitalists and has attracted billions of dollars worth of investments.

Sadin has more experience in traditional gaming; he acted as the vice-president of product for Sega before he held the position of executive director of product for WB Games and VP.

He further says that it doesn’t matter to them if a consumer is a “one-person indie or a global developer/publisher” that employs tens of thousands of people; their aim is to assist them in building and operating fully compliant crypto games that can be enjoyed for years to come.

However, the project needs to have a good design, and the team needs to be passionate about creating and operating games. “We’re not here to support any pump-and-dump projects,” he adds.
