  • Terra has collaborated with the Washington Nationals MLB team, and crypto exchange Bitstamp has now joined with esports company Immortals, so sports and esports fans will soon see more bitcoin commercials during games.
  • As part of the agreement, spectators attending games will be able to make purchases using UST at the team’s home stadium, Nationals Park, as early as next season.

The Terra community has joined FTX as a significant crypto organization that sponsors professional American sports teams. In the two new collaborations, crypto and NFT will be integrated with prominent professional sports and esports groups.

Terra (LUNA) is the tenth most valuable cryptocurrency by market capitalization and the blockchain that generates the UST stable coin. A decentralized autonomous organization (DAO) governs the project, which is currently an official partner of the Washington Nationals.

To secure the transaction, the Terra community promised $38.2 million in UST over the following five years. Terra founder Do Kwon proposed the collaboration on February 1 via the community’s governance platform.

The agreement: to make purchases using UST

As part of the agreement, spectators attending games will be able to make purchases using UST at the team’s home stadium, Nationals Park, as early as next season.

In addition, the team will place Terra signage throughout Nationals Park during games and create a five-part video series advertising Terra.

During the 2021 season, about 1.5 million people attended Nationals games. As Covid-19 limits are relaxed, Terra’s exposure in the ballpark is likely to rise to 2 million.

“Interactive streams, original content, and special giveaways that blend crypto and gaming”

Bitstamp, a cryptocurrency exchange based in the United Kingdom, announced on February 9 that it has joined with the Immortals competitive esports organization based in the United States.

Bitstamp and Immortals will work together on three fronts, including future nonfungible tokens (NFT) for fans.

Immortals will form a team of content creators who will function as Bitstamp brand ambassadors, providing “interactive streams, original content, and special giveaways that blend crypto and gaming.”

After Guild Esports PLC, Bitstamp now has its second official partner for its Bitstamp Gaming platform.

The relationship is “particularly created as both an educational opportunity, through which fans can learn more about crypto, and enable fans to explore and connect with the Web3 environment,” according to the Immortals.
