The “Paint Drop” NFTs will open rewards in the FEWOCiOUS upcoming FewoWorld project.
FEWOCiOUS have raised funds worth $19 million through his latest NFT drop.
Over the weekend, FEWOCiOUS, a 19-year old artist, opened his paint sale. The event marked the launch of his latest collection as “the building block” of FewoWorld, his new generative art project.
Collectors can buy Paint units that will be exchanged for “Paint Drop” NFTs that would be equivalent to the number of units they purchased. Buying more units will open up more rewards in FewoWorld. The top 50 buyers will be eligible for custom pieces made by FEWOCiOUS, along with their own trophy NFT. Before a public sale, an exclusive sale was opened for FEWOCiOUS NFT holders, which was priced at either $1,000 per unit or $500 per unit for holders in the public sale. The sale closed on Monday, amounting to about $19 million with 30,198 units sold.
Further details regarding the project are not revealed yet, though FEWOCiOUS has only said that the project is “unlike anything he has created before.” Besides, he has also made the promise that the Paint Drop NFTs will unlock rewards such as “Fewos” and “Canvas.”
FEWOCiOUS likes to call his art pieces as Fewos as often seen.
Many NFT whales, who are basically digital art collectors that hold huge stacks of Ethereum to invest in, have purchased Paint units in the drop. Mateen Soudagar, popularly known as DCLBlogger purchased 515 Paint for around $260,000. He explains that he believes that the value for the unique NFTs the top buyers will get can amount to something big and also, that the legacy of FEWOCiOUS and collector base will likely grow exponentially in the future, in a series of tweets.
FEWOCiOUS is among many crypto-native artists who came into the spotlight in early 2021, the time when NFTs became mainstream. As of March, his digital sneaker partnership with RTFKT, which also has a pair of sneakers, raised funds worth around $3.1 million. As his profile grew, he sold his work at Christie’s and Sotheby’s. FEWOCiOUS expertise lies in a colorful, animated style. As a transgender person, he often takes inspiration from his life experiences. FEWOCiOUS has become a popular voice for the NFT movement with other popular artists such as Beeple in just a year.
