Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs) have opened a plethora of opportunities for digital artists. And one such 13 year old Digital artist has managed to gather multi-million dollars by selling illustrations of images of women with long necks.

Nyla Hayes’ NFT illustrations feature long-neck women ranging from prominent entities like former US First Lady Michelle Obama, Lucille Ball, Ruth Bader Ginsburg, etc along with everyday women.

Enjoys Painting Women, Fascinated by Varied Cultures

Hayes NFTs can be purchased via Bitcoin (BTC) and other cryptocurrencies on an NFT website where she uploads them. Only last month, her Long Neckie Lady artwork sold for $6,621.70 on Instagram, she also sold an NFT for around $4,000 earlier in February.

As a child, this 13-year old adored brontosaurus dinosaurs finding them powerful and enthralling, and dubbed them as long neckies.

Although the concept of NFTs is not new in the world, they have gained massive popularity lately with several NFT projects emerging last year.

Last August, her most expensive NFT which was a hand-drawn computer-generated collection featuring 3,333 diverse women, got sold for 4 ETH equating to around $11,738. And so far her work has earned $7 million.

According to Hayles when she appeared in an interview, she enjoy painting women from all around the world since she is fascinated by many cultures and backgrounds.

The talented teenager was even chosen for Time magazine’s web3 and new media program, TimePieces as the first artist-in-residence. And there, she made a series recreating Time’s Women of the year cover photos. She was also selected as the Emerging Artist of the year by NFL.NYC in 2021.

She highlighted in a statement that she is overjoyed and humbled to be represented by the legendary talent agency CAA. This is a significant accomplishment for her and the Long Neckie Community which believed in her and supported her from the start.

Similar to the crypto industry, the NFT space is also not free from skepticism, but some believe vehemently in their potential believing that they are here for the long run. And this teenager is one such example that maybe NFTs are just more than fascinating drawings. It is to see how the sector grows in the future.
