  • The Digital asset platform now has a total of four female members on its board out of ten.
  • According to a Linkedin analysis, 70% of the new hires in the digital assets industry were men in the last three years.

Two new female members joined the Board Of Directors at Bakkt Holdings (BKKT), the Digital asset platform. As highlighted by a press release, this move is to strengthen the diversity among its board members.

Bakkt Now Gets Contribution From Their Prior expertise

Bakkt is a US Based company and has added De’Ana Dow, who is the general counsel at Capitol Counsel LLC, and Jill Simeone, who is the chief legal officer and corporate secretary at Etsy (ETSY), to its board.

Following these additional members to the BoD, Bakkt Holdings now has a total of four female members on its board.

The Crypto industry has been overshadowed by men compared to women. According to a Linkedin analysis, from the year 2018 to 2021, 70% of the new hires in the digital assets industry were men.

According to Sean Collins, Chair of Bakkt’s Board of Directors, they bring decades of experience in financial and retail sectors, adding to their board’s depth and breadth of expertise. And that the multifaceted diversity of their board, enhanced further by their new directors, aligns with their core belief that different perspectives strengthen our products and culture.

Both of the ladies would contribute to Bakkt with their prior experiences and skills. Dow has expertise in financial markets and regulatory issues. She has earlier served in the senior legal and policy-making roles for more than 20 years at the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC).

Whereas Simeone has served as ETSY’s Chief legal officer and corporate secretary for the recent five years. She seems to have a keen knowledge of governance, compliance, executive compensation, and risk management. And would serve Bakkt with all her expertise in the field.
