  • It is to look forward if Web3 via digital currencies can provide a path to raise funds.

After the leak of a Supreme court draft opinion that would overturn the 1973 notable Roe V. Wade decision, the entrepreneurs and activists are looking towards an alternative to facilitate funding an abortion-focused DAO

And eventually, they this as a way to enable money to women in over two dozen states where abortion services may be considerably banned or restricted.

Although if Roe is overturned, it is to note that abortion would not be outlawed. In fact, states would be able to determine the procedure’s legality separately.

Thirteen states in the US have already signified their willingness to ban abortion by passing triggering laws that might also come to reality after the pending decisions. These states comprise Mississippi, Utah, Arkansas, Kentucky, Idaho, Louisiana, and Wyoming.

A lot of anti-abortion groups have already started to accept cryptocurrency, whereas most national abortion non-profits haven’t.

According to an OB-GYN, Dr. Giobannina Anthony, if Roe v. Wade is overturned, these trigger laws would present new costs and hurdles for providers and women seeking abortions.

And members of an abortion rights DAO would pool funds that would be utilized to pay for out-of-state travel, in-clinic procedures, and the pills that account for 54% of abortions in the US.

Tech giants like Citigroup and Amazon have also agreed to facilitate employees to cover travel costs, in spite of the possible penalties for a lot of states where financially helping abortions can tag along with legal consequences with it.

DAOs have been utilized widely to help raise funds for various causes, for instance, raising funds for Ukraine.

But can Web3 integrate the utility of crypto assets as soon as it comes alive, can it provide a way to raise funds, or will it be a dream forever.
