Educational Institutions Traversing In The Virtual World
The University of Sao Paulo (USP) is taking a step toward the virtual world as it is willing to explore and research around the concept of the Metaverse.
The University recently reported that the metaverse centric research would be carried out by those research groups which are interested in three-dimensional modeling, human behavior, and psychology, and the effectiveness of virtual and augmented reality (AR/VR) devices.
The research domain would be analyzed keeping in mind the Metaverse to comprehend how the virtual world impacts user interactions.
Marcos A. Simplicio Jr., a USP professor, cited that this is the first time USP had received a nonfungible token (NFT) through a collaboration. The token in question is a rare piece of land in the United States of Mars (USM) Metaverse that is being created in partnership with other universities.
He further highlighted that USP is the first University in Latin America to have a collaboration with USM to support the development of its Metaverse.
For the starting, this partnership will feature a collaboration with researchers who come from a current agreement known as the University Blockchain Research Initiative (UBRI), which is sponsored by the payment protocol Ripple.
The World Economic Forum’s Annual Meeting recently got wrapped up, and reportedly, a lot of opportunities revolving around the virtual world were discussed there.
Additionally, the University of Sao Paulo and the United States of Mars has also announced an agreement that focuses on promoting research regarding the economic, technical, and legal spheres of the Metaverse.
