Optimism Airdrop Coming Soon
Ethereum scaling solution Optimism is soon going to launch its airdrop, and is expected to come this next week on Tuesday, but a few users were reportedly able to claim them ahead of the drop.
In the Discord channel of the project, a moderator from team of optimism stated that a few users were able to get their hands on OP tokens, the indigenous crypto of Optimism, on Tuesday by interacting directly with the smart contract while they are still testing the airdrop function.
As per the Optimism blog post issued just previous month, airdrop was anticipated to be the first in “an entire season of airdrops.” Though the dates of these airdrops weren’t unveiled by Optimism.
However, several folks having the knowledge of the event stated to a news website that the airdrop will be revealed on Tuesday. It is not clear whether the reports of early claims will delay the plans.
Some Optimism Users Expresses Pessimism
There was some pessimism regarding the event of early claim of Optimism tokens, and the frustrated users took it to twitter, as they are concerned that this event might affect the value of the token.
Some other users were frustrated because the website changed their status to “ineligible” no matter the fact that previously highlighted that they would be eligible for the airdrop.
As per the whitepaper of the Optimism airdrop, the initial airdrop is intended to reward the folks who have been “instrumental as active users and early adopters of optimism projects.
A total of 248,699 addresses will be able to get OP tokens from the first airdrop.
As of this writing, OP, the native token of Optimism, was trading at the market value of $1.43, bullish by a huge margin of 26.72% during previous 24 hours.
