Passing it Right to The Midfielder
Professional soccer club Crawler Town FC followed through a community voting process involving 1000 ticket holders and NFT holders. The voting was conducted to recruit the next player on board as – goalkeeper, defender, or a midfielder.
The voting process, which took place on June 15th, turned out into a team decision to hire a midfielder rather than a goalkeeper or a defender. The voting was first of its kind where the fans and the NFT holders were asked to make a decision.
Preston Johnson – Former ESPN gambling analyst and Co-owner of Crawley Town – emphasized on the importance of offering fans and NFT holders such an opportunity. He said, “A lot of NFT projects are just speculation with no real tangible spine, no real true story. Having a football club to root for every week? That’s a spine that people attach themselves to.”
He added to this saying if we can achieve a position in the English football league with our fans on our side the story will be totally different. That will be a bigger scene then. There are many football clubs in the league adding users on their NFT platform promising them a reality based platform but what Crawley Town is doing is something out of the box as of now.

The Long Pass – Owners Making a Difference
Preston Johnson running hand to hand with Ebin Smith – derivatives trader – having a long term goal in vision. The plan is to take the club Crawley Town to new heights to compete with Manchester City and Liverpool F.C. in likes.
Sliding into the picture comes WAGMI United, owned by more than 30 investors, with some giant entrepreneurs from different genres including Gary Vaynerchuk and Darly Moery. WAGM is aiming to get Crawley Town in race with some of the renowned clubs in the league.

Back in June they introduced Crawley Town’s team jersey which could only be purchased through non fungible tokens. These tokens not just get investors the jersey but a lot more alike decision making power on player transfers and free Adidas merchandise and exclusive and physical and virtual events. Total of 10,000 NFTs were rolled out in the market out of which 1993 remains. These NFTs can be minted at a subtle price of ETH 0.35 worth 600 USD approximately.
