The Web3 Expansion

The implementation of Instagram’s non-fungible token (NFT) functionality has begun in 100 additional countries by Meta, also known as previously Facebook. Creators and companies may use the capability to showcase their digital artifacts on their Instagram pages.

As of Monday, Instagram will open up access to more nations in Africa, Asia-Pacific, the Middle East, and the Americas after launching NFTs as a test in May and then extending their reach in June. With a limited group of US manufacturers and collectors, the business has been experimenting digital collectibles on Instagram since May.

Zuckerberg’s Basketball NFT?

Co-founder and CEO of Meta Platforms Mark Zuckerberg made the news on Instagram. He emphasized the upcoming rollout of new connectors with Coinbase and Dapper. Additionally, he released a photo of himself playing basketball as a youngster that would soon be turned into an NFT. The most recent version will enable users to share digital treasures and automatically identify both the creator and collector. Once linked, users will be able to select which NFTs from their wallet they would like to post on Instagram.

It will now be able to upload digital collectibles created on the Flow blockchain and allow wallet connections with the Coinbase Wallet and Dapper. As of right now, it will enable connections with many third-party wallets, such as Dapper Wallet, Trust Wallet, Rainbow Wallet, MetaMask Wallet, and Coinbase Wallet. Currently supported blockchains are Flow, Polygon, and Ethereum. Posting or sharing a digital collectable on Instagram is free of charge.
