This is going to be shocking news for the Man U fans. Someone created a fake fan token of the legendary club. And what’s more interesting is that it soared by 3000% after Elon Musk made a joke about purchasing Manchester United on Twitter. The coin is called MUFC and is not associated with the Premier League club in any way.
The unofficial Manchester United token is believed to be created by hardcore fans on the club. They made false claims that the holders of this token will have the power to influence the club decisions. Creators of the coin also dropped an airdrop consisting of 10 Billion MUFC back in November 2021. They promised a giveaway of 10,000 tokens to every individual who will follow their account on Twitter. This led the fake token’s price to rise to 1 USD.
But as the digital asset was fake, it plunged by 100% after the pump in November. The asset became water under the bridge until the Tesla CEO made this tweet. The coin rose like the phoenix from its ashes and plunged by an enthralling percentage. Elon Musk confirmed the joke by replying to a comment.
MANU Share Price Gained From The Elon Musk Joke
This naughty stunt actually had some positive effect on assets actually associated with Manchester United. It assisted the MANU share price to rise by 1.97%. Tezos, which is currently in partnership with the Red Devils, saw a surge by $138.85 Million in its market cap. The event also led to a rise in rival club Manchester City’s token by 14%.
As of now, the token has no liquidity and is already coming downstairs, and is more likely to hit ground zero like the previous time.
