Goddess Artemis Will Rise With This Game
When PUBG stepped into the world, players around the globe went crazy about the concept of an open-world battle royale survival game. Just last year, Brendan Green, creator of PlayerUnknown’s BattleGrounds, gave a clue that his studio is working on bigger survival projects called Prologue and Artemis. Recently, in an interview with Nathan Brown, he unveiled that Artemis will include NFTs, metaverse and blockchain technology.
Project Artemis will be an open-world survival game set up in the middle of a wilderness. Greene said that “The project is not about money, but people and community.” Prologue will serve as a stepping stone for the massive project as it will introduce a single player experience unlike Artemis’ massive multiplayer environment.
It is noteworthy that the name of the game resembles a goddess from Greek mythology. Basically, Artemis was the goddess of hunt, wild animals, wilderness, vegetation, wilderness and more. Users will find all of these ideas in the upcoming project.
Metaverse is already attracting big players in the game including Tencent, Meta, Apple and more. All of them want to build interesting and interactive digital worlds for the people. Now that Greene has confirmed that the team will go all-in on the metaverse, the question remains, how much time will it take for Project Artemis to go live concerning the details of the game.
Robert Greene left PUBG Studios back in 2019. In a Twitter video, he said that “He fell in love with sandbox-styled open-world games as they offer freedom to the players.” His vision is to create a world not just a game. This sounds similar to the concept Neal Stephenson proposed in his novel “Snow Crash.”
In 2019, Ready Player One, a novel adaptation by Steven Spielberg gave a glimpse on “The OASIS,” a virtual world. If what Robert says is true, then we might see a similar concept coming alive in front of our eyes.
