–  Use cases of Cryptocurrencies are increasing rapidly in daily use.

McDonald’s is an American-based multinational fast-food chain listed among the top ten globally popular fast-food players in the fast food industry.

McDonald’s operates their stores all across more than 100 plus countries with a per day consumer base of 69 million.

According to reliable information, McDonald’s has started accepting payments in cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin and Tether in Lugana, a city based in Switzerland with a total population of around 63,000 people.

The official Twitter handle of Bitcoin Magazine has uploaded a video of expecting Bitcoin and Tether in a McDonald’s store based in Lugano, Switzerland.

In the posted video, it is seen that a woman ordered the fast food by using a self-order kiosk. After confirming the order, the woman went to the counter, scanned the QR code provided by the store executive, and paid the bill using mobile crypto services in the form of Bitcoin.

Since the H2 of 2022 crypto market has been struggling hard, some major cryptocurrencies in the market have lost their value by more than 60%. Bitcoin prices downgraded from $65K plus, and currently, Bitcoin is trading at $19,909.

Some popular market analysts believe that the prices of Bitcoin will definitely increase in the first quarter of 2023. Although currently, Bitcoin is struggling hard and hopes to recover to its original position soon.

Paolo Ardoino, Chief Technical Officer of Tether, mentioned, “Earlier this year, Lugano and Tether signed a memorandum of understanding to launch a strategic collaboration through several initiatives, including to help local businesses integrate their existing payment services with the permitted stablecoins and Bitcoin. We have been working together to ensure the technological infrastructure is in place to support this, and today, we watch all of that hard work come to fruition.”

It is not the first time McDonald accepted cryptocurrency payments in their stores; earlier in El Salvador, McDonald started accepting payments in the form of Bitcoin.
