Ripple CTO David Schwartz was angry when Ethereum’s co-founder Vitalik Buterin commented on Ripple’s XRP as still “completely centralized.” To be a part of the crypto market, they need to use cryptography and “some kind of chain data structure somewhere,” according to Buterin. Schwartz was disappointed with Buterin for not having an idea of the difference between Ripple and XRP.

“All this time he still doesn’t understand, or is pretending not to understand, that Ripple is a company and XRP is a digital asset. He thinks XRP can say things,” David Schwartz tweeted.

Meanwhile, it is not the first time that Buterin has commented on XRP. Earlier in August, “XRP already lost their right to protection when they tried to throw us under the bus as China-controlled,” Buterin tweeted.

Almost two years have passed since Ripple was slapped with a lawsuit by the United States Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). The SEC sued Ripple Labs Inc at the end of 2020 for marketing XRP tokens on its platform. The SEC stated that it comes under unregistered securities.

Difference Between Ripple And XRP

Ripple Labs Inc. is a crypto payment firm that issues and manages XRP distribution. Ripple was the founder of Ripple Protocol, an open-source protocol that includes Ripple Consensus Ledger (RCL) and RippleNet. It doesn’t have any control over the RCL, the blockchain upon which XRP relies.

The Ripple website states, “The XRP Ledger is based on an inherently decentralized, democratic, consensus mechanism which no one party can control.”

David Schwartz Replied To Cardano Founder’s Comment On “Lack Of Technical Value”

Recently, Charles Hoskinson, CEO of Input Output (IOHK), said he would stop supporting Ripple’s ongoing lawsuit and its native token, XRP. On a December 16 webcast, Charles said he was attacked for taking a stand on the Ripple case with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).

Charles said the attacks were unwarranted as he was on the side of Ripple. He said, “I was accused of lying, and I was accused of yet again creating a flood and trolling. I don’t know how to interact with the XRP community, I think my statements have been historically very measured and supportive.”

“XRP provides no partnership or technical value. The community is toxic and petty. I can live without it,” he tweeted.

Ripple CTO reacted to Charles’ tweet “You may want to wait a few days, read this tweet back, and think about whether you are sure that’s the combination of things you really want to say.”
