Artificial Intelligence is taking the world by storm and ChatGPT’s arrival has given the industry a whole new shape. Recently. Bill Gates, co-founder of Microsoft, hosted an Ask Me Anything (AMA) session on Reddit where he answered several questions including those involving AI, internet and more. He offered a “proof” to let the users know that they are dealing with his original account.
AI is quite interesting
He believes that AI is quite interesting. A user asked a question whether he believes in any significant technology that can revolutionize the sector. He affirmed that AI is the potential answer for what the user was asking for. He said that AI is the big one while web3 and metaverse are not.
Another user asked him about the generative AI for which he said that he is quite impressed and thinks the concept to be revolutionary. Moreover, Semafor, an online news media, reported that Microsoft may collaborate with the brains behind ChatGPT, OpenAI. Though there’s no official confirmation regarding the deal, the rumors are that the agreement may include a $10 Billion investment.
Though Bill Gates is more optimistic about artificial intelligence, his company acquired Activision Blizzard, the company behind the Call of Duty franchise. Satya Nadella, CEO of the organization, said that this deal will help them develop the metaverse. Recently, their vision was met with an obstacle by the Federal Trade Commission (FTC).
This comes as the agency claims that this acquisition will increase Microsoft’s control over the gaming industry. Currently, the organization, alongside Sony, is already dominating the space with Xbox and playstation. A similar instance happened with Apple when they banned Epic Games’ Fortnite from the App Store.
Epic Games filed a lawsuit against the iPhone makers and said that the company is trying to shed monopoly in the market. Though, the court ruled that Apple is not behaving like a monopolist which made Epic Games unhappy. Moreover, the tech giant did not want to walk on the path court provided which would allow their partners to offer links to alternate payments.
Many believe that AI will cut several jobs as it can offer better solutions than manual labor. Metaverse being another tech marvel, may use artificial intelligence to come up with interactive virtual humans in digital spaces. If Microsoft agrees upon the OpenAI deal, it can potentially boost productivity to a whole new level.
