Artificial intelligence (AI) appears to be rising exponentially. From Google to Microsoft, everyone wants a piece of this intelligent snack. The technology can also help digital creators to enhance their productivity, especially in virtual spaces. Nvidia, during the GTC keynote, announced the latest tools to be used with the Omniverse Audio2Face application.

New SimReady Assets Are Available For Creators

Nvidia Omniverse is a platform for developers to create applications in the metaverse. The blog highlights that the latest RTX GPUs enable next-gen devices, including laptop and desktop workstations, to meet the demands of the industrial metaverse, AI, and more.

Omniverse Audio2Face uses artificial intelligence to animate metaverse avatars using audio files. Moreover, a new Omniverse Connector compatible with Unity workflows is operational in the beta version. Unity’s Unreal Engine, specifically in games, is used globally to create realistic scenes and visuals.

More than 1,000 new SimReady assets are also available for digital creators. These are simply virtual objects developed to mimic the physical movement of real-world items. Nvidia’s Omniverse primarily focuses on physics-accurate movement of everything we will see in the metaverse.

This year’s GTC conference by Nvidia focuses on artificial intelligence and the metaverse. BMW, a German automaker, recently announced that they are expanding the use cases of Nvidia Omniverse for their future digital twin factories. During the keynote, Jensen Huang, Nvidia founder, gave a glimpse of the first virtual factory backed by Nvidia Omniverse.

Huang also said that the company would bring artificial intelligence to every industry. This might sound like the death of the metaverse, but it can be a boon for virtual spaces. AI holds massive learning potential even though it cannot step out of the box. It can help in the creation of human-like metaverse avatars that can respond and behave realistically.

The metaverse is still to enter the mainstream. It still lacks the necessary technology required to lay a proper framework. Companies including Meta, Apple, Roblox, and more are developing tools to pull virtual spaces into the mainstream. Moreover, different metaverse platforms like Decentraland and The Sandbox have attracted the attention of major organizations like Adidas, Atari, JPMorgan Chase, and more.

Nvidia has been a leading organization in the tech market, empowering others by delivering innovative solutions like accelerated computing GPUs, ASICs, and more. Though other companies may emerge in the future to enhance technological advancements, Nvidia will potentially be powering others through its innovations.

However, companies like Meta and Apple are considered to be the top organizations leading the metaverse race. Apple is yet to reveal its VR headsets, while Meta’s released their Quest Pro headgear in October 2022.
