- The crypto wallet service provider now facilitates direct crypto purchases through the platform.
MetaMask has made a significant move and is bringing a whole new feature over the platform to ease crypto purchases. The feature over the popular crypto wallet and decentralized application (DApp) provider will allow users to buy cryptocurrencies using fiat currencies. Buying digital assets over the platform after the Buy Crypto upgrade feature over Portfolio Dapp would become easier and more frictionless than earlier.
With the feature, users can buy several major cryptocurrencies directly. There would be more than 90 different crypto tokens from eight blockchain networks, including Ethereum, Arbitrum, Fantom, Avalanche Contract Chain, etc. And these assets could be bought through multiple payment methods from credit or debit cards, bank transfers, PayPal, and Automated Clearing House (ACH).
In the past, the browser extension crypto wallet created by market-leading blockchain technology company Consensys has made efforts to bring more users. MetaMask made partnerships with different entities in these years.
Last year, Metamask reported coming in partnership with payment giant PayPal. This collaboration enabled the crypto wallet platform users to purchase Ethereum (ETH) and trade the crypto asset using the payment protocol.
The December 2022 launched service facilitated users’ Ethereum (ETH) purchases and their transfer to MetaMask from PayPal. It just needs a login from the mobile application of Metamask. The transaction could be easily done after getting redirected to the PayPal account.
Metamask reportedly announced its integration with MoonPay, a popular crypto fintech service provider, in March this year. With this integration, users based in Nigeria were then enabled to make purchases of cryptocurrencies using bank transfers.
Now the recent feature offers buying cryptocurrencies in an easier and cheaper way using traditional payment methods like cards or bank transfers.
MetaMask users need to link wallets with Portfolio Dapp or simply can opt for the “Buy” option. The users get to select their locality, a method of payment, and the cryptocurrency of their choice over the network they want.
In addition, the feature takes care of crypto regulations in the region after confirming the user’s location. This avails a more customized experience each time of making a purchase. After securing the quote for purchase, users get redirected to the transaction phase. From there, the diverted route brings users to its MetaMask wallet, and the process completes its final stage.
