While the bill grants the SEC anti-fraud authority over certain crypto commodity transactions, it primarily grants the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) authority over digital commodity cash and spot markets. The proposed bill reflects a collaborative effort between the House Financial Services Committee and the House Agriculture Committee. It aims to strike a balance between consumer protection and responsible innovation in the crypto industry.
