Elon Musk recently claimed via Twitter that the account “Explain This Bob” is a scam crypto account. However, Musk later contradicted himself by stating that he loves Bob. Additionally, the “Explain the Bob” account was suspended after Musk’s tweet. The account had 4,00,000 followers at the time of suspension.

Elon Musk Contradicts His Own Tweet

As a result of Elon Musk‘s claim that the account was a scam crypto account, Twitter has suspended the account of the well-known AI-powered meme bot “Explain This Bob”.

As a response to the bot’s tweet posted on June 18, Musk tweeted that the account was a hoax and shortly afterwards, the account was suspended.

According to the account’s description, ‘Explain This Bob’ had over 4,00,000 followers before the account was suspended. It was developed by an Indian developer named Prabhu Biswal, who utilized OpenAI’s GPT-4 model to respond to tweets sent to the account by users who tagged it in their tweets.

This initiative was also connected to the creation of the ERC-20 meme coin, Bob Token (BOB), which was introduced in April 2023. It has been reported that a suspension of the Twitter account has caused the price to drop by around 30%, according to CoinGecko.

In response to a tweet made by the bot on April 20, Musk quickly responded to it by tweeting, “I love Bob”, which was a reversal of his initial assessment of the bot, which he had expressed through a cryptic tweet on April 20.

The tweet by Musk is prominently displayed on the website of the project as a means of promoting it.

However, no action was taken against the Bob Token account by Twitter. The team behind the project amusingly reacted to news of the suspension by posting a meme showing Musk watching a distressed “Bob” in jail.

According to observers, Musk thinks that ‘Explain This Bob’ is being exploited as a marketing gimmick to boost BOB’s price.

The hashtag “FREEBOB” has been trending on Crypto Twitter since the suspension. The majority of observers believe that BOB is not a scam currency and that the suspension is unjustified since the token’s launch was “fair” and because BOB is “fully decentralized” and has a 0% tax mechanism.

Users have also pointed out that the team did not give itself any tokens or airdrops before the launch of the Bob Token in April.

Conclusion

Elon Musk Tweeted that ‘Explain This Bob’ is a scam crypto account on Twitter and soon afterwards, the account of ‘Explain This Bob’ was suspended. ‘Explain This Bob’ had 4,00,000 followers at the time of suspension. A few days after the suspension, Musk once again tweeted a controversial tweet that stated,“I Love Bob” which contradicted his previous tweet. Many users feel the suspension is unfair and the hashtag FREEBOB is currently trending on Twitter.
