Twitter has seen a number of changes since the centibillionaire and founder of Tesla and SpaceX, Elon Musk bought the social media platform. Starting to become a private entity from a public company, from a verification program to that of a subscription model, limiting use cases according to subscription, and a lot more changes have been made. Now, Twitter is not “Twitter” anymore, it becomes “X”.

The iconic “Larry the bird”—the bluebird acting as an official Twitter logo since 2010—has not been replaced with ‘X’. The changed logo is visible on the social media platform’s website.

Talking about the website, X.com now also redirects to the official website twitter.com. However, Musk clarified that the logo is “intertim” which makes it subject to change in the future.

The change was announced over the weekend and it took place late Sunday, July 24th, 2023.

Replacing the logo was a start as Musk gave a hit earlier that it is a “bid adieu to the Twitter brand and, gradually, all the birds.”

In April 2023, it was revealed in a court filing that Twitter Inc is changed to X Corp, though no confirmation of when the change will actually take place was announced.

All these efforts are the result of Musk’s anticipation of a “super app”. He used to give hints of creating one soon and turning Twitter to the rebranding shows the steps approaching “the everything app”.

The chief executive officer of the social media company, Linda Yaccarino, was seen celebrating the transformation.

Highlighting the importance, CEO Yaccarino said that “X is the future state of unlimited interactivity.” The platform would include all the crucial ways of interactions from audio, video, messaging, banking, etc. “Ideas, goods, services, and opportunities” would be possible through the “global marketplace.” Indicating the integration of artificial intelligence (AI), she added that X will set up connections in all possible ways.

In the revamp, Twitter had gone through a change in color scheme to black. The logo had gone and X took the spot of the blue bird.
