Philcoin, the blockchain-enabled platform focused on supporting philanthropic initiatives, has joined forces with the Repton Family of Schools in the United Arab Emirates. This strategic partnership, which is part of Excella’s network of K-12 educational institutions, aims to turn student achievements into practical tools for enabling philanthropy via crypto tokens.
These digital tokens, which reside in house wallets, aim to represent diverse achievements, whether they’re notable academic milestones, excellent behavior, or a form of special recognition. This system should help encourage a positive, inclusive learning environment, motivating pupils towards academic excellence and maintaining Repton Values.
By the end of the academic year, the total house points earned should match an equal number of PHL tokens. Throughout September of this year, Philcoin will reportedly conduct sessions for Repton teachers, students, and parents focused on cryptocurrency, Philcoin‘s mission, and the uniqueness of this collaboration in the UAE region.
House teachers are set to act as Philcoin Champions, monitoring transactions and actively engaging with the Philcoin platform. Under Philcoin Champions’ guidance, the accumulated cryptocurrency tokens may be donated to an approved Philcoin philanthropic project, selected by the students, or moved forward to the following academic year.
In addition to this, the best-performing house at the end of the year may earn double the crypto tokens for every house point. In a generous move, Philcoin will reportedly donate AED 10,000 on behalf of the highest-scoring house to a charitable initiative, which is listed on Philcoin’s app, “PHILApp”.
The Repton collaboration is consistent with Philcoin’s objectives, seeding the essence of giving in young learners. Although Repton students will not be directly transacting with virtual currency, they’ll become well-acquainted with its potential to meaningfully support underprivileged members of society.
