OKX, a Web3 technology company exhibits interest in the Web3 entertainment platform, Matr1x. On December 12, 2023, OKX Ventures, the investment arm of OKX disclosed an investment in Matr1x for its ongoing project Matr1x Fire, a mobile shooter in Metaverse. As a broader initiative, the venture invested $20 Million to support upcoming innovations and support Matr1x reach its goal.
The next-generation Web3 entertainment platform showcasing a future of the crypto punk world via high-quality multi-episode games created a recognized image in the gaming and Web3 space. The platform raised millions from a range of venture capital firms including OKX Ventures, SevenX Ventures, Amber, etc. to develop projects like Matr1x Fire, Matr1x War, and Matr1x Evolution.
Funding Rounds of Matr1x
The Web3 entertainment platform raised over $20 million in 3 funding rounds.
Series A fundraising was announced on 19 September 2022 and raised around $10 Million, with major contributions from Hashkey Capital, Amber Group, Hana Financial Investment, and SevenX ventures. The extended Series A fundraising was announced on 23 November 2023 and involved Folius Ventures, Initiate Capital, Jambo, and other ventures. The last round was announced on 12 December 2023, with investment from OKX ventures.
Focusing on the recent activities, the studio released two NFT collections that are Matr1x Kuku and Matr1x 2061, along with a plan to release the third collection that will act as a membership pass to the landscape.
In addition to this, the Web3 entertainment platform also announced the launch of its Arabic-language website and applications for Web3 and crypto-related services. The purpose is to make both the market more accessible to Arabic-speaking audiences.
About the Matr1x Fire Gaming Landscape
Matr1x Fire is an ongoing project of Matr1x, preparing to offer competitive, team match and deathmatch mode to gaming enthusiasts. Inspired by CS: GO, the game is supposed to offer an immersive experience to the players, making the battle more interesting.
Uncovering the details, the Matr1x Fire offers players a hero squad including Hanseen, Kotetsu, Nash, Eiriksson, etc. along with a wide range of weapons to reach ultimate victory. Pistol, Shotgun, Rifle, SMG, LMG, and Melee are some popular weapons offered along with specifications.
To enhance the player gaming experience, Matr1x Fire offers different battle locations such as Sakura, Switchman House, Turbine, Chop Shop, etc. The game is expected to be out during Q1 2024, according to Madeira, the co-founder of Matr1x.
“The investment will mainly be used for the development of the gaming landscape and is expected to launch during Q1 2024”, added Madeira.
