The bitcoin futures exchange and digital assets platform founded in 2018 Bakkt, recently announced the launch of its official digital wallet app to track & trade digital assets like cryptocurrency or convert them to cash. The Bakkt app is the custody service’s second vital app and is aimed at retail users. As a promotional offer to get more people to download the app, the Atlanta-based Bakkt, LLC company is giving away $1 million.
The Bakkt Wallet App
The Bakkt digital wallet app enables users to track and trade digital assets like cryptocurrency, loyalty, and reward points, or convert them to cash; and is available on both Android as well as iOS supported devices. At present, the platform supports more than 200 brands including Starbucks, GolfNow, Best Buy, Choice Hotels, Fiserv, and more. Each of these brands has partnered with and offers payment services through the platform. Some are even availing exclusive deals to the app users.
An All-New Experience
The new digital experience presents a new payment method, letting anyone use their assets in whichever way they prefer, to convert and utilize supported loyalty, rewards points, bitcoin, frequent flyer miles, and gift cards into USD or vice versa, like buying rewards as discounted gift cards, all facilities available within just one app.
Views & Visions for the App
The CEO of Bakkt, Gavin Michael in his recent statement expressed his views and visions for the app. He said average consumers own an abundance of digital assets, like collected gift cards, loyalty points from frequently visited stores, miles from often-traveled airlines, etc., yet what they lack is a tool to properly manage, track and use their value. So to ease the issue, they have designed the Bakkt App.
Tempting Services & Public Participation
In its last year’s invitation-only Early Access Program, to release and test the new features before its public debut, the Bakkt app witnessed user participation of over 500,000. This is the first time that the app was released on the Google Play Store and was made available to general users on iOS. All the promised services are available on the current version of the app.
