Nippon Express In A way To Develop A Blockchain-Based Transportation Network For Pharmaceuticals

Nippon Express a Japanese logistics company is all set to incorporate a blockchain network into a new system that will be commenced next year.  According to a news report, Nippon Express is planning to invest up to 100bn yen into a blockchain-based transportation network for pharmaceuticals.

Nippon has partnered with Accenture and Intel Japan to develop a blockchain-based on the transport network. The company aims to build pharmaceuticals in 2021 with an investment of 100 billion yen which is approximately one billion USD including the building of warehouses.

The blockchain was lead by the use of crypto assets. Nippon Express will be working domestically as well as abroad to develop this pharmaceutical network adaptable with blockchain.

Benefits of partnering with Accenture and Intel

To check the temperature of products on trucks in the warehouses, Accenture will establish a system of sensors. In addition to that Intel Japan will provide radio-frequency identification tags to track the location of each shipment.

How the blockchain will work

The collaboration of RFID tags and sensors will allow the wholesalers, medical institutions and manufacturers to record the pharmaceutical development access in real-time using blockchain.

From the import of raw materials and products to deliver it to medical institutions, the contributions from Accenture and Intel will be installed on Nippon Express warehouses, trucks, factories.

Then after the data will be uploaded to the blockchain at each stage by providing the condition, status, and position of each delivery.

A month before the TEAMZ Blockchain Summit 2020 which was held in Tokyo, Nippon Express’s news got highlighted in the market. However, due to the coronavirus outbreak, there has been hypothesizing on the event being canceled. Till now nothing has been announced.
