  • Mirror Trading International executives were summoned by a High Court
  • Court’s ruling came after 18 victims of the BTC Global scams filed a lawsuit asking for compensation
  • Although the master trader of both the scams ran away, it is known that no such identity ever existed

Mirror Trading International (MTI), a South Africa-based crypto trading service provider, had winded up its operations earlier this year. It is known that the firm had defrauded around 28k users making $644 million of personal gains. This weekend, a high court summoned two executives of MTI who had connections with another cryptocurrency investment scam “BTC Global”. Indeed, the court’s order came after a civil lawsuit filed by 18 plaintiffs demanding compensation from them.

Scammed victims demanding compensation

Eighteen victims of the biggest cryptocurrency scam by Mirror Trading International have filed a lawsuit. According to local news outlets, the plaintiffs are demanding compensation of $174,662. It is also known that they want an additional 7% annual interest for the losses they suffered through the scam. Moreover, the lawsuit is also asking for further and alternative relief and the legal costs incurred by the plaintiff’s part of the filings.

Mirror Trading International executives have a link to a BTC scam

The High Court call was issued to three individuals in connection to a Bitcoin Global investment scam. The individuals are Clynton Marks, Cheri Marks, and Andrew Caw. Among the summoned individuals Clynton Marks and Cheri Marks were involved in the Mirror Trading International scam also. It is known that Clynton was a 50% shareholder in the firm, whereas Cheri was the operational head of the firm.

However, both the scams were observed similarly and claimed to allow clients in trading pools managed by Steven Twain, a master trader. And when the users were unable to withdraw their funds, they were told that Twain was attacked in his home and his equipment was stolen. Moreover, since earlier 2018, nor Twain nor his tracks were found to date. Also, it is claimed that there is no evidence that Twain as the master trader ever existed in any of the scams.

Is Cheri Mark only Steven Twain?

Many claimed that Cheri is the only Twain and has used the scheme to steal the funds with such a fake profile. However, she denied that she had no ownership or control over BTC Global. Also, Cheri claimed that she never used such fake profiles to launder the funds of the users of the platforms. In a statement published by the lawyer of Cheri, it was mentioned that Stevan Twain is a real person.
