NFTs craze has been attracting more mainstream attention globally. Pepsi, the leading global foods and beverage firm has been stepping in the NFTs ecosystem. The world’s leading beverage maker announced last week that it would release its own Non-Fungible Tokens series. Notably, as per the announcement, the series of digital collectibles was to be known as “Pepsi Mic Drop”. Moreover, the announcement also highlighted that the distribution will start from December 14th, 2021 on the leading and most popular altcoin blockchain.
Pepsi’s NFTs series will soon be distributed
Pepsi has put Vayner NFT as the in charge of its NFTs drop design. Notably, the consulting firm was founded by Gary Vaynerchuk, an entrepreneur with a reputation and a popular influencer in the US. Notably, the first attempt of the leading beverage producer’s NFT Drop will issue 1893 Non-Fungible Tokens. The count was set in honour of the firm’s founding year.
The crypto collectibles collection will have a microphone-based design as a homage to the music industry, which would be familiar to Pepsi. It is incredible to see that all the items including the microphone and background are all generated by algorithms. These algos are based on cans containing limited-edition Pepsi such as Crystal Pepsi and Pepsi Zero. Indeed, each of the digital collectibles has a different degree of rarity.
How to receive the NFT drop?
Non-Fungible Tokens are ERC-721 standard and can be issued free of charge. To receive these tokens, users will have to sign the waiting list that will be lifted at 02:00 A.M. on December 11th, as per Japan time.
Once a user enters the list, NFTs minting will be possible on the 14th. However, on monday, a separate gas fee would be generated and Ether will be required. 50 of the NFT tokens will be distributed at upcoming limited events from among the 1893 collectibles. Hence, 50 of the tokens will not be distributed at Minting next week.
Entry was flooded with several enthusiasts
When Pepsi had released an entry in the reservation list, the opening was flooded with a heavy count of users. Notably, the high demand caused the official website to go down for a temporary period. However, Pepsi tweeted, that even if the entry success screen does not appear, it did not necessarily fail. However, it seemed the firm took measures to prevent entry by bots.
