Ozzy Osbourne, Black Sabbath vocalist, recently announced the release of his own NFT collection dubbed ‘CryptoBatz’ as a remembrance of the infamous 1982 performance in Des Moines, Iowa, during which he sparked controversy by biting the head off a bat.
According to Rolling Stone, a CryptoBatz pre-sale is now live via the project’s Discord channel, with the sale taking place in January 2022.
Ozzy’s NFT Collection Features 9.666 unique ‘CryptoBatz’ NFTs
Ozzy’s NFT collection includes 9.666 unique NFTs, which are the heavy metal icon’s own creation, which will be available to purchase next month.
The heavy metal icon is quite excited about the release of his unique collection of NFTs that hold the potential to change NFTs from other collections. Ozzy says, “CryptoBatz is a fucking mental project for NFT collectors and fans. The design pays tribute to one of my most iconic onstage moments and is a chance to acquire a rare piece of art history. I love it,”
By activating the CryptoBatz feature to “bite” and mutate with another NFT from their digital wallet, each of the 9.666 NFTs will allow collectors to mint an additional NFT.
These new NFTs – named ‘MutantBatz’ will have both projects’ attributes.
Earlier, NFTs such as Bored Ape Yacht Club, SupDucks, Cryptotoadz, and a fourth mysterious NFT have collaborated for the combination feature.

Ozzy also said, “I’ve been trying to get in on the NFT action for a while, so when I asked Sharon for a Bored Ape for Christmas after several failed attempts of buying my own, and she said no, I decided to create my own,”
Ozzy also disclosed his plans to launch a treasure hunt for CryptoBatz dubbed ‘AncientBatz,’ while virtual Batz distributed around the globe in hidden locations.
Each of the AncientBatz will be able to breed 100 MutantBatz and bite up to 100 NFTs.
The pre-sale of CryptoBatz is already live through the project’s Discord channel.
According to Rolling Stone, a 2500 guaranteed CryptoBat pre-sale through the same channel allowlist passes will be available exclusively.
