Eminem is a legendary rapper from Detroit who recently made another move in the NFT world by purchasing an Ape from Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC). The purchase, done on Thursday night, was of an Ape based on the Ethereum blockchain and was bought for about 123 ETH, estimating $452,000. Eminem, since the purchase, has made the Ape his Twitter profile picture. To date, he has already bought 15 NFTs from OpenSea under the Shady Holdings name.
Eminem is one of the most famous artists in the music industry, selling over 220 million records worldwide. He won a Golden Global Award for giving the best original song, named Lose Yourself, featured in the movie 8 Mile, and is the only rapper in the world to get the Academy Award. He also won 15 Grammy awards and several other American music awards.
The Madness of The BAYC Member
GeeGazza is the BAYC member who sold this Ape to Eminem and declared that the purchase is now officially confirmed and is remarking and madness for him. However, Eminem did not comment on the purchase, but GeeGazza did make a tweet that said he is living in a simulation.
As per some reports, the BAYC member has hoped to sell the Ape to Eminem for a while. Some earlier tweets and announcements verify this in which he explained that one could not understand how long he has been waiting for Eminem to acquire his Ape. Another tweet said that Eminem had been destined to purchase the Ape one day.
However, the Six named agency has held the credit for selling the BAYC NFT to Eminem. The agency on Twitter said that it’s their creator-focused agency who helped Eminem secure the Ape and is now being called the EminApe. The agency has worked with Tycho and Galantis on some different projects and with the rap group popularly known as Wu-Tang Clan.
Eminem Joins The NFT Project!
Since Eminem now acquires the EminApe, he is officially a part of the world’s second-largest NFT project by volume on the OpenSea platform. The BAYC has recorded trading of about 11,705.97 ETH, estimating $43 million in secondary sales. The floor price currently stands at $220,000, about 60 ETH. Eminem is now among the other celebrities who have aped to date, including famous personalities like Stephen Curry, the NBA star, and Jimmy Fallon, the talk show host.
